Northwest Implants and Periodontics

Our goal is to provide you with the highest quality of dental implant and periodontal care in a warm and caring environment.

On your first visit to our office you will be given a thorough examination. Afterwards, we will explain our findings and your options for treatment including the cost of treatment. We will allow extra time to be sure all your questions are answered. We want to make sure you have all the information you need to make a decision that works well for you.

Many goals that we set for the new year can benefit both your dental health and your overall health, such as drinking more water or incorporating more fruits and veggies into your diet. Have you made any New Year's resolutions this year? If so, share your goals with us in the comments!

Winter is a popular time for snow sports, such as skiing and snowboarding, and as with every sport, there is a risk of injury. If you crack or chip a tooth while out on the slopes, it Is important to rinse your mouth with water, stop any bleeding, and seek treatment as soon as possible. If your tooth is cracked, you may not notice it right away, but pay attention to any sensitivity or tooth pain, especially while eating hot or cold foods or when you bite down.

Eggs are an extremely versatile food. They are great snacks, and you can easily add them to many meals for extra protein. Eggs also have nutrients that promote healthy teeth: phosphorus, vitamin D, and a little bit of calcium.

During the winter, we typically don’t think as much about hydration as we do in the summer, but drinking enough water is still important in the colder months. Water helps reduce your risk of decay by washing away food particles and sugar and reducing dry mouth, but it also has other great benefits for your overall health, like preventing dry lips and skin or aiding digestion.

During the holidays, many people are buying or making sweet treats for gifts, entertaining, or just to get in the holiday spirit. While it is okay to have the occasional treat, some sweets are more damaging to your teeth than others. Candy canes are a common candy during the holidays, but eating them exposes your teeth to sugar for long periods of time, creating an environment that encourages decay.

If you have a sinus infection, it can cause a build up in pressure due to congestion and swelling, and pressure in the upper sinuses can lead to pain and discomfort in your upper molars. Treating your sinus infection will eventually stop the discomfort, but If you notice tooth sensitivity or pain after your infection has healed, contact our office today.

Sometimes the source of breath odor is not brushing and flossing every day, but halitosis can also be caused by medical conditions like diabetes or chronic bronchitis. If your teeth and mouth are healthy but there is still breath odor, you may need to see a physician to learn more about the underlying cause.

Tooth whitening toothpaste contains ingredients that polish the surface of your teeth, but it does not contain bleach like professional tooth whitening treatments or over-the-counter kits. Everyone responds to each teeth whitening option differently, so if you are interested in achieving a brighter smile, contact us to find out what options will work best for you.
